INFLOWENTIAL

Hip Hop / Alternative
Raleigh, NC
Inflowential began in the spring of 2003 when two high school friends, Bender and A-did moved next door to each other in their first apartments while attending North Carolina State University. They began to spend their free time playing music together and added emcee Tab-One, song writer Charlie Smarts and smooth playing of Kyle to complete the groups original sound. They went on to enter and win battle of the bands competitions, including a 1st place ranking in the 2006 Atlantic Records Talent Competition at The Hip Hop Symposium at NCCU and a 1st place finish in the MTVU’s Nationwide Battle of the Bands competition in 2008.
Caught somewhere in between hip hop and alternative music genres, they have played along such hip hop acts as Wyclef Jean, and Snoop Dogg, but they fit right in while touring the U.S.with rock/country act Rehab and playing alongside West African/American mash up band Toubab Krewe. Unique to Inflowential’s sound, instead of a drummer, their live percussionist drops the breaks as a human beat box. The lyricism is crisp, the verses well annunciated and the messages evoke honesty. Clearly influenced by early-mid-‘90s groups, Inflowential definitely brings clarity back to hip-hop through their sound and message, and college campuses are eating it up, marking a very promising beginning..
